Doubt we will get a pay rise , they will say delivering the shorter working week is a pay rise in itself.

My gut feeling is that we'll never see the reduction down to 37hrs for full timers

Pay rise 2020

There are far more important issues to be discussed such as the new parcel strategy, RM steadily giving up on the letters & flats side of the business, managerial B&H etc etc etc. This was the case at the time of the last pay negotiations but now literally tens of thousands of jobs are potentially at risk. Not much point in some posties getting a few more quid if many others lose their jobs.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

Royal mail.migjy want to concentrate on parcels but the government won't let them stop delivering letters. My office has been rammed 2 days this week and if we didn't deliver it who would? They can talk about declining mail all they want but it isn't going to stop being sent and you need a big system and the people to deliver it. And that will be royal mail no matter what Rico might want
