Insured too and from work ?

Post by wheresourmoney »

Hi everyone, a work mate had an accident coming to work and was off for a couple of weeks, when he returned, at his welcome back chat, he was told that as he is not insured too and from work it was not classed as an accident at work, is this right ?. thanks

The guy wasn't actually at work yet plus their duty time might not have started yet. Therefore it isn't really an accident at work.

Depends on the context as with most things.

I am guessing that this is probably attendance related, rather than compensation. If so then it wouldn't be classed as an Accident on Duty, as it wasn't anything to do with the work he performs. To be frank, even if you could claim it as an AOD it would probably have been counted for a stage anyway.

Compensation gets more complicated so I won't go there.

Why would RM insure you driving to work?

He hit a kerb and fell of his pushbike and damaged his wrist.

That's nothing to do with RM

Then that's not an AOD. His home insurance may cover him, but not RMs.
