finishing on time and not completing

How often do you have an issue with management about finishing on time, not extending, and leaving bags in/bringing bags back? How do yous do it in your office

A lot of shouting, lying, threats and sharp practice. Told to take it out and phone in only for the screws to ignore the phone or leave the office.

About once a week if the parcels are bad or when theres a bulk.
Say to the manager we wont be able to complete.

Remind management your frame was designed for another time. Since the internet boomed the job of work - as represented by a frame - can only be a guide. Do your contracted hours and remind management we're in the middle of a retail revolution. It's not our fault senior management can't seem to deal with now, never mind plan for years and decade ahead.

Take what you can finish within your duty time, if any argument ask them to send out work placement coach with you then do the delivery as by book never rush walk comfortable pace try neighbours for parcel, if any flats on round drive there instead taking trolley and leave unattended, whatever left over bring back next time leave in the office same amount of work what you have brought back, in our office we take what we can do within our duty time, even most parcel doesn't fit through letter box we leave as bulk and back to office 20 minutes before duty time hope that helps

Today I was misaligned with a part timer and we left a loop behind and also bought two loops back. He’s not the quickest but his training was so poor he has to develop his skills on the job day by day and when time is the key it can be a tough environment

Be great to actually speak to your boss to inform him you can’t complete,but of course he’s not in your office,he’s at his other office,and therefore requires you to engage in a phone call with him,the reason will be I’ve run out of time,and no I don’t want overtime,I’m going home at my finish time.over to you boss to sort out,maybe ring the ones who are at home get them back to complete it maybe.?it doesn’t happen all the time,just when we’re busy,thinking your not going to complete and actually not going to complete is dependant on how your delivery is going I guess,if your out on good time or late out usually has an impact on having time to complete or not?

No one can learn the job instantaneously and especially if a new postie is moved to different walks all the time they are not going to be fast or even proficient. You have to be a bit patient with new posties and try not to get stressed. Sometimes new posties are not shown the basics or do not hold the necessary information. Having said that we are all human and everyone can make a mistake occasionally.

Work your time and try you best that is all you can do ! But always tell your manager when leaving depot that your struggling and will call them at 12pm if no answer text saying what your likely bringing back and that's proof your following the rules of the cut off .

When you didnt take your absobing it was bad enough,and woe betide if you threatened to cut off,dummies were spat out,threatened with all sorts,told you were not up to the job etc etc and that was quite a while ago,it seems nothing changes. What a job this has become.

So how does failed mail get delivered and by who?if you get back past your time you tell him the next day,and he starts the finished early the other day spill,so you ring him and say you can’t complete your out of time,do you want overtime? no thanks bye!its on my bench,who will deliver it then?i dare say the all clear office button has been pressed on pc anyway,and how much out of time do you give them,5 mins 10 mins? None?the boss does have it pretty good with little or no trouble to deal with,I think he’s been in post too long with us,his work is done,go to another less of a pushover office and see just how he fairs

That’s good to know. No one has told me any of that, but I’m expected to take out extras which always push me over my finish time. I opted for a part-time job because I have commitments outside the workplace, overtime is nice but not at the expense of my family.
