Manager illusion of power

I had the mis-fortune of meeting a Royal mail manager in the street (with no Id or badge or proof that he was who he said he was )Passing coment and giving direction on what i was doing . This occurred when obviously he had finished work 40 miles from home .So the question is what gives these people the right to think they have power over people like the police when not working .

Thoughts ??

It wasnt what to do to the request but right to give direction when they are not at work .

What were you doing that he felt the need to give direction?
How do you know he had finished work?

So if a manager approached you because you left the keys in the van with the engine running while you went to deliver a packet -

As IB are classed as managers, and it is their job to check us out on delivery - it might have been one of them, but they are required to show ID when identifying themselves.
