its worth remembering that the title to your post is a little untrue because the form withdraws you from the WHOLE POLITICAL FUND and not just the section that may go to the labour party.
So do I mate, and if the CWU can ensure none of our money will go to that shower, I'll opt straight back in.lovejoy wrote:
I don't blame anyone for taking this action as it is the only immediate way to get back at Labour but i feel that unions need political funds.

Obviously when the Tories get in next time they'll undoubtedly raise posties wages to at least £500 a week and halt all creeping privatisation.
Yeah right.
Presumably then all the sheep will be harping on about the good old days under Blair and Brown etc etc.
Hey nose, have you met this very sharp knife?

The stuff New Liebour did for the working man was mostly from the EEC Social Chapter which Major opted out of , I was invited to the meeting at Wigan which that dwarf Mc Cartney spoke at , yeah ! it was a vast improvement from Major's days but New Liebour didn't exactly shout it from the rooftops & it was a very watered down version of it due to pressure from the CBI .Tman wrote:I don't know what the answer IS, but I know that not voting, or not voting for Labour on the grounds that "they don't do us any good" etc etc is even more wrong.
YOU may not like how the country's been run for the last ten years (although many do seem satisfied; the labour standing in the polls after ten years is at a standard Maggie could only dream of) but allowing the Tory scourge back in to wreak further havoc would be criminally naive.
That's the irony; the most right-wing Labour government ever has done more for the working man than Foot, Heffer, Kier Hardy, Benn, the SWP, Communist Party and all the other assorted tw*ts combined.
I well remember 15% interest rates, 18 month+ hospital waiting lists, 4000000 unemployed, Matrix Churchill, Westland, GCHQ and the rest, and have no wish to return to that just because Sun-reading sheep have such short memories.

I left Liebour as soon as I'd read Byers had deliberately put :lfo in to sort the CWU out .
