Yard marshall

Hi, in our office the 2 locker duties are going for yard Marshall training, is it right that they will receive extra money for being yard Marshall's, thank you

PHG ( Postman Higher Grade) ceased to be many years ago. We are all OPG these days (Operational Grade) and as a result ANYONE could, or can, apply for any operational position within Royal Mail ?

A former PHG may consider themselves to be superior to standard rank and file posties (indeed many do in my experience!) especially as most still recieve a legacy allowance (of around £20 per week) in recognition of their enhanced role and skill-set before modernisation.

I do not know if being a Yard Marshall attracts a pay allowance. Either way one would hope the role went to the applicant (or applicants) with the best skill-set and understanding of the job.

There hasn't been an application process, the roles were just given to them, they are going for training next week

We now have work place coach’s who get paid well for doing little, maybe this falls under their remit. Not heard of this personally.

No you don't get paid for it. It's basically directing the vehicles into the bags and making sure the trailers are on the correct spot for cages ect. They are normally part time jobs in the MCs. Utter tosh. Wtf is the manager doing. Oh yes that's right, sitting in the traffic office drinking coffee and watching porn on the computer.

Just like being a first aider ,such a comfort to do all these extra things and get nothing extra for doing extra,am sure the Dom could find time to ease the boredom in his day,a distraction from his daily culture of fear led plans of lapsing,loaning,penny pinching morale breaking,soul destroying,finger pointing,daily remit that he spills out.
