Hi, we don’t have a union rep to ask so I’m asking here for my colleague/friend. If there is a vacant duty for 30 hours and person A is currently on 24hrs/4 days and person B is 30 hrs/5days and person A is more senior, who should be given the duty? Also, advert stated no changes to contract.

Thanks, Jacko

I would say person A is ineligible to sign for such a duty. If after "winning" the duty they are talking about actually changing their hours up to 30 then I would suggest that the duty should go up for signing again with the updated terms that there can be changes to contract so everyone has a fair chance to sign for it under the "actual" terms.
