Just found out today guy in work got a promotion to line manager cover. Not a position I would want at all but the issue is our DOM didn’t put an advert up for all to see and those to apply who wanted to. It was all done and dusted with no ones knowledge. Manager picking who he wants. Is this against employment law? I know I and many others don’t want the position but it pisses me off the lack of equality and fairness in my office and this has infuriated many of us.

The postie/stand in line manager may have applied through the "Sucess Factors" website, which everyone has the opportunity to do so, if so then - In my Opinion - it's not against the law, or any agreement that I am aware of.
