Hi, what’s the difference between pressure overtime and absence overtime?

Pressure Overtime is mainly overtime for sorting and absence overtime is covering walks when someone has gone sick

I always thought pressure was due to extra unplanned workload and scheduled was for sickness and annual leave.

Pressure is for ... well yeah..... Pressure ( when actual workload is heavier than the computer says and when the resourcing tool gets it wrong or if more mail arrives in your office in the morning than was anticipated !)

Absence Overtime is hours performed to cover any sort of absence ( Sickness, Holidays, Union Leave, Staff training Courses etc)

Pressure overtime is for when it's gonna take you longer than your scheduled finish time, for whatever reason, traffic has nowt to do with it. If your walk is too big, traffic levels have little to do with it.

My office has a squiggly line through 'pressure' when we return, an attempt to stop us booking it when we overrun. Often the 'absence' form as well. So people write around the squiggles. What children they are.
