Doubled up fittings

How many offices on here are throwing in to doubled up fittings?

How are you coping with multiple D2D's plus mail.

Double slotted, either just for 1 entire walk or both walks combined into a single fitting.

Next to useless. I think a few of our frames have small sections with double slots - usually it's multi occupancy buildings such as retirement homes. The majority of slots on our frames are sufficient to hold D2Ds, letters, and the occasional small packet.

They're a major PITA although I don't often cover a delivery with them. With d2d I tend to just put one lot in a doubled up slot otherwise it's a job to get all the mail in and it gets muddled up.

In our office, single slots on a frame usually means it's an address that gets driven, majority of the frames are completely double slotted. Our office doesn't really have the space to stick extra wings on frames. Results in carrying a bundle of mail, and a bundle of D2D and picking between both as you go.

Been to an office that got moved into another office. They have 2 walks on one frame. Packets and D2Ds take twice as long as u can't get them in frame or get hit with avalanche of packets. And you've got posties tripping over each other. Result, loops get left in daily. Crazy!

I think they're trying to bring it in at our place, our office is too small basically so they figure if they half the amount of frames it'll give us more room elsewhere. It'll be horrendous if they do. The heavier walks already struggle to fit all the packets on the frames at busier periods, it'll be virtually impossible with twice as much to put up there.

That's what I think they are trying for around here.

The lunatics are running the asylum springs to mind if they go for that.

same as ours 40 duties crammed in so we all have double slots

Double slots are next to useless when you have a thick d2d or catalogues in, need a shoe horn to try thow mail into them some mornings

In our office the question should be are there any frames with single slots? Very few!

Its ridiculous especially when you have a whole section at the end which is empty. Slows you down no end and often mail and d2d gets muddled up between the two addresses leaving you to sort it when you get there. So inefficient. Obviously someone who’s never done the job came up with the idea and gets paid a lot more than us!
