So yesterday in an attempt to get me out earlier to do double lapsing the PHG had thrown my first lot of sequence in before i got into work,still didn't have the time and the manager obviously wasn't happy as he thought by doing this i would,awkward standoff but i won't be bullied into doing it.So today when i got in exactly the same plus my D2D's had been put together as well but still didn't have time,there was a special on the lapse so told the PHG that i wouldn't be doing it to get the sarcastic reply 'what a surprise',i said what did you say?to which i got the same reply.I was absolutely fuming by the way i was spoken to and went up to the managers office to say what had happened,the conversation ended with me threatening to put a grievance in.

Would you class this as bullying/unacceptable behaviour?Should my mail be thrown in by them just so i can lapse?The PHG has been funny with me before and behaves this way as they usually end up having to deliver my lapse,no rep in the office doesn't help.

absolutely not, the only reason you should lapse is because, you have time to do just that!!! not because he is accelerating your prep, get your rep on it asap, or contact your branch, absolootely scandalous this practice and an easy argument to be kicked into touch, I would easily be able to slaughter this managers argument for lapsing, and as for the PHG, he wants to take a good look at himself!!!

just do what I do just say HAVNT GOT TIME TO LAPSE SORRY do job properly take ye 40 mins (if entitled that is )and don't rush around not saying you do southern

Well, my thoughts! Are you alone in having mail prepped? PHGs can be a strange animal, many poachers turned gamekeepers, and say much more tha their "prayers" if you get my drift. Too much time spare spent with management.
I think that many PHGs have delusions of grandeur over their OPG colleagues and it's probably rife nationwide.
If they made a stand on in having an impact on their PHG work rather than cosy up to managers things may be different.
Many managers allow them too much scope! For example how does he/she have time to do the prep work?
Is the DOM covering THEIR job? The lapsing issue is always clouded by like, OT payments to go in early to prep for example which in effect defeats the whole purpose and lapse capability argument. We all know the additional leave opportunity for staff is a nonsense, it's more to do with sickness levels and non filling vacancies.
Stick to your convictions, no time to lapse? Don't do it, which means you have to keep yor nose squeaky clean btw!

Similar things happen in our office, there's a couple of posties who for whatever reason stick their nose in when not required. "Why aren't you lapsing? It's Tuesday for f**k sake! I am doing mine!" Or words to similar effect. In our office it's because said posties know they're gonna be done early on their easy jobs and they'll be going back out to do what's left. In your case I'd imagine the PHG will have had to run the special because you refused. I tell people to mind their own f**king business and leave it at that, I guess it's up to you if you want to take it further though. Hard to say one snotty comment is bullying though I'd have thought.

Oh what fun!our boss gets stuck into the tracked items in an attempt to “get us out early” it’s a shamefull state of affairs isn’t it,I’d do the same and be the same if it was me,after 37 years all this lapsing etc is grating on me to say the least,a constant battle with the powers that be ,and managers not managing,our so called boss has to be the worst boss that we’ve had that we hardly ever see!”we need to have a chat”he says after I failed to complete my bit of lapsing after going over my time on my round for which I will get nothing as I finished early some other time,blah blah,I haven’t the enthusiasm to be phoning him to justify reasons why I haven’t enough time to complete my duty properly safely and securely occasionally,he can get his minions to do it on s/a during the pm collections,or be at his office when people return early and send them out to help complete,
