Help with an item sent back to seller

My gf sent an item back to a seller via her local small post office. She didn’t keep a receipt.
The seller is denying receiving the product.
Her local post office apparently does not keep records so can’t give her any documentation to prove it was sent.

I work in a big depo where people can send stuff back and she reckons they may have the data on their system.

I just want to know if that’s as stupid as I think or whether they would actually have data from a small post office in the same city.

What service was it sent by (eg 1st/2nd class, was it recorded delivery, etc)?

2nd class.
Was sent on the 15th of this month. 14 days ago.
But I don’t see how the main depo in my city would have that info when my gf used a smaller branch in same city.
I just don’t wanna go in waste my time and ask a stupid question

Not a clue, Dw I know for a fact the main office won’t have info on an un recorded parcel in a separate office. Just needed to make sure to appease the other half and not waste my time in the depo before work.

Would have been best to either ask for a 'proof of postage' when the item is posted or use the 'signed for' service which enables you to check online that it had been received and view the signature.

The time for this was a proof of posting at time of sending.
POCs don't keep records like the one you are looking for,
