How does it show on payslip if I choose to have it payed?

do you personally opt for payment or an extra days leave?

I used to go for the lieu day but you could hardly ever get it when you wanted it for (especially if it was a Saturday) so I always go for the money now.

Our book room guy came round yesterday and today with a sheet of everyone who's day off was Monday. We just ticked whether we wanted a leave day or the pay, and then signed by our decision. Those wanting pay will get it as overtime next weeks - those wanting extra leave will have it added to their balance. Hard enough to take leave as it is, so I always opt for the money.

My line manager today told me that from now on if your day off falls on a Bank Holiday that you won't have the option of getting paid,
you will just get the day off in lieu, is this true or is he telling porkies?

The managers have now shown our PHG a letter from their area manager stating that no bank holidays will be paid if their day falls on the bank holiday, a day in lieu will be the only option.
Surely this must be agreed with the union nationally?
Some of our members aren't happy whose day off is this coming bank holiday Monday especially as it's hard enough getting days off throughout the year.

There should be no default. They should come round a few days before and ask which option you want

Just choose option A or B when we sign ot sheet on a bank holiday.
