Rumour mill-van share not cost effective

So with all these changes the rumour mill is gathering pace again! One I’ve heard lately is this Rico guy doesn’t think vanshare is cost effective anymore, what that means I don’t know?? Bikes again? E-trikes on the horizon, hcts and bikes mixed dependant on distance from office? It’s funny that it’s been tabled to our union that we are going to make parcel duties up for the size3 and 4 parcels and absorb more Walking it’s like going back to one of the old methods....any thoughts anyone more in the know shed any light??

to be honest does anyone care anymore as its the same s**t but a different leader , the company just goes round in circles like always , but they can do what they want but we all still have a finish time regardless what great ideas they come up with .

if they go round in circles then i'm all for starting at 5.15 am again, sorting till 6.00 prepping your duty till 6.45 and on the street for 7.00am. back at 9.45, break till 10.30, sorting again/prep till 11.00. back out on street till 11.45.....home/bar/bed/wotever. suits me.

Not a chance in hell of that happening. The work doesn't arrive in MCs early enough. If anything many in deliveries will end up being 09:00-17:00 or even 10:00-18:00

Don't be so quick to dismiss the notion , it will come back , just not in the guise that you think. Look at LAT deliveries,is that not a form of second delivery for example.

If they push most deliveries back to either 09:00-17:00 or 10:00-18:00 then they could have the LAT delivered as part of the normal workload

Paying for a van and all that goes with it. Mostly to do 10 miles or less a day. Working to the pace of the slowest person. Of course it's inefficient. Could have told you that ten years ago.
