Having recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after a long process of figuring out exactly what has been going on with my body , my questions are firstly , is it covered under the equalities act ? And secondly is it worth asking to be referred to oh assist for a plan of how to help me stay at work while I’m exploring the right treatment options ?
I can still do my job but some days are harder than others and I can’t predict when those days will be.

You might have a fight on your hands.
I thought having members covered under the equality act was a real safeguard & it is but in my experience management are not taking it into consideration with AR1's & 2's; they wait instead for dismissal & work out if they can get away with it.
I have had problems with assisting members getting OH referrals too as management are refusing referrals unless for long term sick rehab plans.
Before your illness gets you on stages I would always recommend a stress in the workplace risk asessment. I would guess if you get ill & they won't help then it will cause you unnaceptable stress & that's something they have to legally act on immediately & if worst comes to worst you have a back-up plan but hopefully not all management structures are as unhelpful as my area.
Good luck!
