No your not. RM still has about 50% of the parcels market which is still a good number when you consider the amount of players in that field. The problem that RM have is that they pay a decent wage with decent, albeit not as it once was, terms and conditions. All the rest like yodel, hermes ect have went down the cheap route, ie, self employed delivery drivers with no holidays, pension, maternity leave, sick pay, ect. So they can send parcels cheaper. This is a point that the union should get across to people and I think they would be surprised at how many people would be willing to pay a bit extra to a decent employer. I send parcels by RM/parcel force as I know it's better than one of my mates who works for yodel and gets 90p per parcel delivered. No one in, NO PAYMENT. He has to pay his own fuel, insurance ect. He makes, after all the deductions about £230 per week for about 55 hours on avarage. (w*****s). Anyway RM is not down and out. I know how big changes, especially in DOs is pissing a lot of people off but their are far far worse jobs out their. Yes they do need to employ more managers that can actually MANAGE but keep the head up as a lot of government departments are going to be coming back over to RM instead of DSA. Especially ESP even though they are going digital, they are still big postal revenues to be had instead of the cowboys companies taking all the profit from DSA. And really the only way is up. Most people have a bond with the RM. Screw the short selling bastards in the city.

STILL waiting for the findings of the Taylor Review into the 'gig economy' to be acted upon, which would hopefully have quite an impact on the profit margins of many our parcel delivery rivals... Won't hold my breath as long as the Tories remain in power though.

sad but true, they seem to accept blokes in tracksuits, trainers and a cigarette in their mouth delivering their items.
