Terry pullinger & culture change. Lost faith now
Love the work Terry pullinger is trying to do,
But in the offices that managers are bullying there untouchable and dont care about local or national agreements ,
And its like there area managers boss will back there unit manager no matter what bullying etc.
They don't give a s**t now about cwu.
It's a total waste of time now culture change.
Seen so many offices out now and they all go back after strike,
And then end up on worse terms.
Tell me any offices better off after mediators have been in to listen to staff.
NONE
So sick now it unreal
Stay strong cwu member's
But I've lost my faith now with cwu
Sad but true

Yes we're all the union and we all have our daily problems in every Office,
That we all fight on a daily basis.
But when we need help when it goes out the area to national level.
That's where we lose the battle.

It’s a pity that the grass root members feel that the everyday matters that effect them are not taken seriously by Dave Ward or Terry Pullinger. We watch video shoots of proposals that never get anywhere near dealing with the daily mundane problems associated with posties in delivery. It has now become obvious that the members have become disillusioned with plenty talk with no REAL action taken to protect members from B&H and intimidatio. This is a relentless daily problem that has been in existence for years now, especially since privatisation. Surely we deserve better, it is constantly put aside and the members are sick and tired, their most basic needs and expectations of being CWU members is terrible.
It appears that they do not care or realise the true effects of their own intransigence, members have become disillusioned that nothing is or has been done about every day problems for too long now.
They need to take their heads out of the sand, accept there is serious problems and address them NOW, these little fabricated - set up culture visits are seen for what they are, a sham! All the reported wildcat strikes tell their own story, RM management are behaving badly and Terry/Dave need to appreciate that simple fact and act upon it, NOW!

Lets just tell them to fix it or we will smash it to pieces, I would rather smash it up now instead of dying by a thousand cuts. They have a plan that assumes we will object a little, strike a little but will comply. So lets just tell them if we cant have it then neither can you.

Couldn't agree more tommyrep , the bullying culture is out of control , managers use every dirty trick in the book and discriminate against anyone who doesn't complete all the time , All these conferences and marches , how are they going to help deal with this , we go on strike it delays their plans for a bit then they bring in the changes they want anyway. I'm very disillusioned with it all , morale in our office is at an all time low and I can't see the union doing anything to improve our situation .

Unfortunately their is no union in my opinion if their was, something would have done long time ago about members being bullied everyday. Your on your own, u go to your local rep, area rep sorry cant help you nothing we can do, just sort it out amongst yourselfs we are powerless, at least their being honest, since it got privatised the union just cant be bothered with any problems anymore, hence their is to many that they as reps are overwhelmed and fed up themselves with it all as their is nothing much they can do, All that crap years ago take your break,oh hes not taking his break? well no ones buying it anymore because the ones that take the break are the very members who end up being bullied to take everything past their time , so you can understand why people are just shooting out the door now! as theirs no support no one to turn to when you do everything right! so... its every man for himself, best way forward either start looking for a new job or suck it up and pray you don't become unflavour of the month not to get sacked for very little as no ones coming to save you, for now at least you have a wage coming in. The culture is so toxic it has every member fearing for their job, if it was a nicer environment where postmen were encouraged told their doing a good job, instead of your only as good as your next day attitude, then just maybe we would all be happier people.

WOW - and I am just about to start as a Postie for Royal Mail. What do you guys mean by bullied? do you mean you are treated like dirt?, overworked?, given too much to deliver within your working hours? and on top of that pressured into putting in extra hours on top of your contracted hours?
When I went to my interview some guys in the canteen where I was waiting to be interviewed were criticising management for being unorganised. When I went for interview I was told there were 3 postie jobs available and I have just seen another advert go up for postie at the same depot, not sure if this is a sign postie's are leaving in their droves or it's normal as it's a large town I live in with a large depot.
I am hoping to get a mortgage soon, based off this new job. The last thing I want is to be in a job where I am being bullied, but have no choice but to accept it as I have a mortgage to pay each month. I definitely do not want to be on that Hamster Wheel.
I have no criticism of Royal Mail. I am just an observer and the amount of times I see the word 'bullying' on this forum and on reviews of jobs with royal mail....it concerns me greatly. I will only find out if it exists when I start work....hopefully the depot where I am working is not like that. I hope to be able to come in and get on with the job which I will do to the best of my ability, get the round done and hopefully finish within my contracted hours. I don't mind doing the odd extra shift to help out, but if it's a regular occurrence then I will likely be saying no a lot of the time. If it's once a week they ask me if I can go out for an extra 1-2 hours, then I'll probably be ok with it...but if it's more than that then no....I don't think it's healthy to walk for any more than 6 hours a day with a heavy bag on your shoulder.

That's why they give you a trolley.
Use it.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

No it won't solve everything but it will solve the issue of a heavy bag on your shoulder.norris9 wrote:oh yes, a trolley will solve everything.clashcityrocker wrote:Nobody does.norris9 wrote: ..I don't think it's healthy to walk for any more than 6 hours a day with a heavy bag on your shoulder.

That is some attitude you have got for someone who is about to start work as a postie.
Good luck in a delivery office.

The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09

When you get so many people running around their walks, not using the proper equipment, cutting across paths, etc, etc, what hope does the union have?

My experience as well . Why pay into a staff association that dresses itself up as a union?
Useless bag of shite ; seniority gone ;agreements gone ;management bullying unchallenged; rep\manager gets whatever ,days off ,OT ,anything goes time.
Bye
