Are Royalmail managers untouchable with bullying,

If the unit manager is accused of bullying etc.

Then the Area manager backs the unit manager if accused of bullying ,
Then the sector manager backs the area manager and then the area manager backs the unit manager,
Even if 90 guys walk out with bullying etc,
The 3 managers above will say that the 90 unit staff are full of s**t???????

If RM seriously push for the eight thousand job losses they want then a strike is 100% certain.

i reckon 8 thousand want out myself included so maybe cwu should be concentrating on getting vr packages sorted as they have a duty for leaving members as well
and as for walkout we threatened strike action with over 90% support and what did we achieve
capitulation

The CWU is trying to change the culture. However bullying in RM is so widespread and ingrained that nothing will change. Some of it comes from a lack of management of line managers and their underlings from higher up management who are too busy counting their bonus money.

I would be very interested in VR . If they want a cut of 8000 let those go that want to go. Loads in my office would go given the chance.

To drive the change in culture that was promised and negotiated by the CWU!, yes.
Bullying is still rife and not being addressed nationally, so a national strike based on that problem alone would or should drive home that bullying a no no and will no longer be tolerated.
In saying that, bullying also needs to be properly defined. Unacceptable treatment of individuals can get confused with being a reasonable request! that is the management loophole that is open to abuse, lost in “interpretation”.
It is far too common nationally with the reports of wildcat strikes now being rampant, so something is obviously wrong and it needs fixed, let’s finally remove a cruel and wicked infliction on people at work.

Royal Mail say they believe by taking it out of normal delivery , that they could reduce potentially from 60 thousand deliveries in the UK to 52 000. there are your 8000 jobs but i think there after a lot more than that

They won’t VR 8000 people, but more likely won’t replace those that leave.

However, at our depot, we’ve had 6 new starters in the last 2 weeks, not agency, but employed staff

They just use agency/casuals instead in MCs. It's about time that the better casuals get offered contracts with RM

Is there any particular reason why agency and casuals are employed in MCs

All I've seen in our office are new faces in the last 6 months and not one of them are either agency or casual workers but in fact most of them are uniformed up and have temporary contracts at least for a year. As there has been only 1 guy that left for early retirement, are Royal Mail silently preparing for a mass exodus sometime in the future I wonder??
