Help understand overtime pay

Hi,

Hopefully someone here can clear this up. I think I’m getting messed about by my DOM and DO over overtime pay.

Should overtime worked last week (11-16 feb) be paid tomorrow or next week?

So yeah, worked lots of OT last week and payslips came through with only the basic wage on it. Not sure if they do it on purpose or it’s the “piss up in a brewery” situation

awful that make sure tell them first thing tomorrow to put it on this week for next week pay . just tell him or her your not happy and what f@@@ is going on ?

This is a very common issue with new starters.

The overtime process isn'properly explained. Make sure you keep a record of all overtime worked. Find where the overtime sheets are kept in your office and always write it down. Your line manager may try to fob you off with the line "dont worry about writing it down, I'll put it in for you". Its a legal record which they have to keep, so make sure you write it down.

The reason it won't get paid is 5% of the time a genuine mistake or 95% of the time they have intentionally not paid you it to get their bonus.

Managers have certain targets they must hit to get their bonus, don't let them mug you off. Its committing fraud and stealing from you. Let them know if it happens again you'll be putting in a grievance.
