It would be interesting to know if Hayes, Ward etc read the comments on this site. At least that way they would be aware of the emotions of a cross-section of members from all over the country and how we feel they have let us down. I have recieved letters from CWU trying to explain how good this agreement is. I rub my eyes in disbelief as I read.
We have been shafted. Looking through this site I can see many reps wanting to stand down in despair. What was the point of the strike??? How the hell can they seriously reccomend a YES vote?
Where do we go from here? Where does the Union go from here?? Will Hayes/Ward etc have a job in a few years time??

Yes Hayes knows about this site.
http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/forum/vi ... php?t=7227
He's registerd on the site,i emailed him on the day he registered activating his account so he does not have to post to see the board.
Although he has not been on since he registered.
Ward i would of thought knows about us as well, but his CWU email addy is not on here, but that means nothing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

PEC are accountable, they have to re elected each year to stay on the PEC. Im sure when next years elections roll round they will feature this deal in their election address.
Some mbrs will undoutbedly be happy with this deal and want to return to normal. Shouldnt their views not be taken into consideration just as much as those who interpet the deal as a bad one? PEC vote simply reflects the views of the mbrs.

Re: Do Hayes and Ward read this site?
Although I agree with everything else you said. I think that it would set a dangerous president, if the way individuals voted WAS leaked. The only exception, would be when people agree to something, and then try to back out at the last minute, to save face.rebel wrote:It would be interesting to know if Hayes, Ward etc read the comments on this site. We have been shafted. Looking through this site I can see many reps wanting to stand down in despair. What was the point of the strike??? How the hell can they seriously reccomend a YES vote?

Meanwhile I'm gonna get drunk before starting yet another overweight shift along with the rest of my totally demoralised colleagues.
A possible example of this, is the leaked PEC document. Which says that certain individuals, only removed their names at the last minute (it's in another recent Thread).
Voting should ALWAYS be by secret ballot. If people choose to state which way they will be voting, then that is their choice. There are of course individuals who claim that they will vote one way, and then vote another, and should be exposed. But how do you do that, without risking the loss of secrecy for everyone?
It's a serious dilemma.

Re: Do Hayes and Ward read this site?
I think there will be a backlash for all those involved in agreeing to this deal. Rightly or wrongly even those opposed will probably feel a cold wind unless there is a declared interest in the election address.andy2007 wrote:Although I agree with everything else you said.
