How long on part time contract

How long should you stay on 22.5 hour contract? Some guys been 7 years! Manager keeps saying he will up hours but never does,he pays them 1 hour a day for prepping walk! And hardly anything for finishing late! It’s ridiculous how they exploit the staff with full timers finishing earlier than pt staff! Sureyyou shouldn’t been on such low hours that long whilst consistently working more?

What’s the rep doing? Surely there’s a case for increasing the contract hours, could they take it to disagreement? If they won’t put the hours up force them into a corner by refuse to work over.

No rep at our place but local rep says he spoke To manager about it and he can’t increase hours because of budget! It’s outrageous whilst full timers come in early to ips or prep for part timers! It seems too many part timers are scared to stand up to him and take it further but it seems all wrong especially when on holiday you only get basic 22:5 hours

So DOM's getting F/T'ers to do IPS either for free, within their hours or at O/T rate which doesn't attract delivery
supplement/pension contributions, so it's a win/win for him/RM. As long as the F/T'ers do the work he won't increase
P/T hours.

For as long as the extra work is done regularly on OT there is no incentive to give out a contract as they will be saving on sick and holiday pay

If you arent desperate for the cash, I would suggest tell the manager you are only prepared to continue doing the extra hours if your contract is changed to reflect it and if he refuses then thats his problem.
