Afternoon All

Due to a relationship breakdown and having to basically start again ...i`m trying to find out if in can cancel a loan payment that comes directly out of my wages to Commsave through Payroll ? , Obviously i would be contacting commsave to explain the situation.

Thanks.

I've found wages won't stop payment to credit unions. But you could apply for £100 more and spread the cost over longer making weekly payments cheaper

I find that surprising ? , why wouldn`t wages stop the payments if i ask to do so , the contract is between myself & commsave not myself Royal mail & commsave ?

Yes , that was my first thought ...but, have heard some horror stories about members asking to reduce payments to Commsave , being flatly refused ? i`ve quite a hefty loan with them so , i`m worried about going to them first.......would rather try and stop payments via wages and then negotiate a payment plan with commsave ?

It depends on the terms and conditions of the loan , I would be very wary about cancelling payments , these things are registered with credit reference agencies I believe and if you default, it could cause you financial damage.

You borrowed the money so why you think it`s reasonable to try and cancel the payments taken from your wage ? You agreed to have those payments taken from wages, why should RM stop them?
The best solution is to talk to commsave and spread the loan on a longer period, I`m sure they will have a solution.
If you try first to stop them getting their money back, I don`t think they will be too nice.
After all, those loans come from everybody`s savings, mine included and I wouldn`t like to lose those savings because someone doesn`t want to pay no more...

Yes , I get what your saying , but circumstance`s change in life quickly and need to free up money ...to set myself up with somewhere to live , would rather do it differently but have no choice !

In exceptional circumstances commsave might agree to a payment holiday until you get back on your feet, or reduce your weekly payments and spread them over a longer period, but to simply stop paying back your loan, they understandably, wouldn't be very happy and wound be disastrous for your credit rating. I have both a loan and savings with commsave and don't want to risk my savings just because people don't want to pay back their loans

In my experience, Payroll will not stop deductions to Commsave for a loan.
I entered into a DMP a few years ago and out of all my creditors, Commsave were by far the most differcult to deal with.
I had to speak to Commsave directly and had to lower my payments and extend my loan duration.
