Sick pay terms

I was off work November 2016 to June 2017 with a heart issue and received 6 months full sick pay and approx. 3 months half sick pay.
I have now had to go off sick for two months with the same ailment. From June 2017 to January 2019, I had no other sick absence.
Please advise me what sick pay I can expect during this period of sick and longer should I fail to return fit for work.
I have been with Royal Mail for over 15 years.

As I understand it, you’d get full pay for 6 months again.

From the RM sick pay guidelines

“Full rate will be paid for a maximum of 6 months in any calendar year. Further periods will be paid at half rate. However, there will be no pay when your absence totals 12 months or more (with or without pay) in any four year period.”

I guess there may be some interpretation on it though. If you’re off for 3 months, you get full pay. If you’re off for 3 more months 2 years later, you get full pay. Then it drops to half pay for 6 months.

So to me, you’ve had 6 months full pay plus approx 3 months half. You’d be entitled to approx another 3 months half pay?
