Has anyone got a copy of the IWT Agreement, what is agreed and what isn't.

Also Geo-route, what is the agreed minimum walking speed

Speak to your Rep he should be trained on the IWT tool and should be able to explain how it works.

They are, actually.

The problem is that manual seems to usually be underestimated and d2ds are definitely not accounted for properly (the times in our office remaining the same for d2ds regardless of the number received by a walk).

All these figures are all well and good, but it is what happens on the ground that matters on the day, and invariably management have all kinds of their own 'indoor workload tools' to circumvent any previously agreed resourcing, such as managers chucking up mail, lapsing when there should be none due to 'sickness' and intimidating newer staff to start early, not take breaks and dissuade them from claiming o/t. It's an ideal world where the rep and manager sit down amicably together to resouce the workload that does not have any hold on reality.

Again, bonus culture within management has a major role in the deceit involved.

Your spot on my friend!you couldn’t make this stuff up could you,they will baffle you with made up facts and figures at every level,convinced that it’s far far more involved in delivering mail than we think,to justify there jobs,if it was done on efficiency and cost effectiveness managers should hold there heads in shame and run for the hills!,,

Just had a quick read through the IWT tool and predicted times it should take and it says 6 minutes to prep d2d's

Thats some going when you have 200 to prep of 7 lots for the 1/6 a day

I hope Royal Mail are never in charge of a football club as they'll demand 4 points from every game

When looking at the example data at the end of the rep guide. Why does the breakdown for Monday not total what’s under the Monday header?

Looks like despite calculating expected D2D time , it’s not included in the totals?

Point taken but how long would it take if you had one lot, or none? Realistically, how often do you have 7 lots?

The Indoor Work Tool is basically a load of b**ocks

You get some guys doing prep and IPS, some prepping 2 duties whilst others are only doing prep for their own duty and nothing else. Like most I struggle to double prep and am heavily reliant on my partner coming in early to help me out if we are going to finish on time. One would think that the managers would have made my partner full-time by now!

If they weren't stupid enough to work for free, they might have!

I was informed byy a Lino during a resource meeting that they didn't include manual in the figures. In short it's a fiddle plain and simple. If you have no d2d or 6 d2d everyone is on the IPS for the same amount of time, there is often a difference of an hour or more between first pair out of the office (normally the docket kings) and last out (the poor c***s with the enormous walks which includes parts that used to be on the docket kings walks before the revision)
