Can a DOM refuse to give you a day off to attend a hospital appointment, offered to even use a holiday and was told no chance due to sick leave etc, appt is about 3 weeks away.

Can you not fit the appt in around your work day? Say come in to work, go to appt then come back to finish your hrs off? Guess depends what appt is actually for . If it's an important appt you have to go for and it cannot be made for a time you are day off or for after 3pm, then I would go above your Dom. As the other reply says, it's not your fault or problem that there are too many off sick. Can you not swop your day off for that week. ATB.

working hours, but sometimes, this is not possible. When an employee needs time off to attend an appointment that
has been scheduled during working hours, there is a legal requirement to facilitate time off. You might do this by
arranging for them to make the time up, swap shifts with a colleague or offer paid time off

Why don’t you ask Dom to swap your rest day around that week .
