Holiday Volumes Compared to Prior Years

Am interested to know how everyone's volumes this holiday compared to last year (which was quite busy)?

Packets over Black Friday and Cyber Monday seemed about the same level as last year.

Generally, the packets seemed up on last year, but they seemed to come steadily rather than have days that were normal and others that were maxed, it seemed more balanced.

Letters and cards way down on past years though.

Van was full on a few days and packet volumes seemed similar to me on large stuff but up a lot on the medium sized ones you'd normally get a few off in your bag at other times of year but just couldn't. Seemed to get a few more large ones on monday/tuesday though this year rather then all on Wed-Fri. Christmas cards didn't seem that great a volume baring a couple of days last week

Manageable I'd say. I find it difficult to compare to last year as we had a few snow days, that just messed the entire Chritmas period up there after.

I’ve been at Royal Mail 6 months and my 1st Xmas over with I found November harder than December ! Any happy Xmas to you all

Packets similar to previous years, post/cards definitely more manageable than previous years so assume reduced volume. Often had smaller bundles than we get in January with all the catalogues etc

Found in our office the reluctance of most to go the extra mile as in previous years, almost everyone cut off & left it to the spares, think a lot are still upset with the way the vote went? We had them in the palm of our hand & crumpled

Understaffed to the point of borrowing staff from other offices and one duty covered by people working their day off. Morale dragged along the toilet floor. Packets through the roof but management not seeing why that would cause extra work. Office cleared thanks to Sunday sorting and packet deliveries.

Not quite as manic as previous Christmases overall'

Last weds, thurs, fri were the worst days.

I also noticed a distinct lack of other couriers delivering pkts this year.

I definitely think consumer spending is down this year.

We were told our Tracked items for the last 4 weeks were 58,000 compared to 44,000 last year.

yes theres a lot of growth in tracked, theyre probably just replacing the standard packets though

I assume that's the amount per day and not per week
