Christmas bank holiday entitlement for p/t

Contract P/T 23.5 hrs delivery

Hi

No one at office will give a straight answer! not rep or manager, can you help me

I am scheduled to work mon/thus and fri Christmas week, therefore Christmas Day and Boxing day are my scheduled days off (rest days) along with Saturday. As Christmas Day and Boxing Day are official Bank Holidays - what I am asking is does anyone know if I am entitled to these Bank Holidays , either by taking time in leu at a suitable time or payment of each?
Also New Years Day is a rest day and also a Bank Holiday, same question applies am I entitled to Time off in leu or payment?

officially royal mail Employment Stratagies state,

'If you’re not scheduled to work on a Bank holiday, you’ll receive the equivalent number of hours as a credit to the hours you would have worked.'

BUT is that only for full time emplyees or ALL employees? no mention of day/s in leu?

You are entitled to the same holiday as a full timer although, in your case, a "day" equates to less than a full timer's day (if that makes sense). What is your contract (hours and days)?

If you work 5 days then you will be paid for the bank holidays if Saturday is your day off.

If your day off is one of the bank holidays (on a 5 day week) then you can be credited another day off in the same week, or a day added to your annual leave, or you can ask for payment.

If you are on less than 4 days PT per week then it gets complicated,

I asked my union rep
About bank holidays. I work 5 in a week normally.I worked Monday then i Have to work today tomorrow and Saturday in. All the other part timers have an extra day off but I don’t. I’ve asked whether I’ll be paid but both my bosses are on annual leave so no ones given me an answer
My union rep said it all depends on staff needed which I fully understand what I don’t understand is a worker that has been there a shorter time then me has an extra day and not all routes are covered and are being covered on overtime so why don’t they make more come in if that’s what’s needed?

They gave me Wednesday as my day off , asked for it to be paid and not time in lieu and was told this morning that can’t be done. Is that accurate or just another scam ?

Hi, I had Boxing Day as my day off also, being told getting paid for it next week

Does anyone know if that’s a national agreement or is it just decided locally from office to office?
