Overtime after xmas

New starter back in November. 25hr contract despite applying for 30hr. Phone call half way thru telling me job was advertised wrong. Getting lots of overtime atm which I enjoy, I'd work 6am til 8pm if possible. Does the OT carry on after Xmas or is this as busy as it gets. It doesn't seem that busy to me altho others seem to think its crazy atm

This is as busy as it gets, but unless your office is fully staffed with no one sick (very rare), there’s normally some OT going in the form of clearing any cut offs, or covering full time walks. Plus you could always put your name down for afternoon collections or early morning sorting, paid at SA rate.

If you're close enough to the local MC, perhaps look into doing ot there during the 2nd half of their night shift

It all depends on your office, I manage to get enough overtime all year through. December is obviously as busy as it gets but with no one on leave. The rest of the year has people on leave so often overtime to pick up. The start of January is usually quite busy.

We have 3 depots in my City. I'm currently at the one furthest from home but am changing to the closest after Xmas. The closest is the biggest of the 3, covers the largest area & has by far the most staff. So I'm hoping holidays, sickness etc I can help to cover.

If said MC has agency staff in every night, must they give overtime to deliver office staff?

Depends on the office. For 2 months last year i ended up doing basic hours, with the exception of the odd few hours here and there. Best to not get use to the OT and treat it as that.

This is my main worry? At interview they told me there will ALWAYS be plenty of OT. Il give it until March, if it's dropped off & doesn't look like returning Il be on my way.

Also want to look into progression as eager to push on
