I feel the same way. Constantly shafted last week. Management has turned into demons. I am absolutely dreading next week. Parcels have been prioritised over mail. What would customers think if they knew they are not receiving the service they paid for?
You pay for a first-class stamp and expect your letter to be delivered within a certain time-frame. NOT HAPPENING IN MY OFFICE! Royal Mail is an utter disgrace

Can be a bit deflating when you arrive on time and find half a dozen muppets already in early UNPAID and have got most of their work in. Then they leave the office and you've still got a mountain of packets in the shrouds to sort through and the manager wonders why you're not going to be able to complete on time like the others??????

People were told to stop coming in early, but they still do it in my office. Then there are the managers' buddies who are paid 4 hours for a york of parcels, but everyone else just gets paid extended and then moaned at!! I HATE THIS JOB!! Management is nothing but a bunch of crooks who steal overtime payments and cheat the workers. WHY DO WE PUT UP WITH IT??

YES, WHY DO YOU PUT UP WITH IT.......STOP DOING ANY DOCKET, WORK THE JOB THE CORRECT WAY USING ALL AVAILABLE APPLIANCES LIKE TROLLYS ECT. IF YOU CONTINUE TO BE A MUG THEN YOU ONLY HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME, EVEN THOUGH SOME DOMS DO NEED A GOOD BACK HANDER. AND I DON'T MEAN CASH.

Neither. Just poor thought process.

Don't concern yourself with what the company is prioritising or with what others are doing.

Do your job correctly to the best of your ability and leave what you cannot do with the manager.

Best advice on here. I've been a postie over 20 years, used to be still out on 1st delivery when the experienced guys had finished 2nd delivery. Never bothered me, just used to hoover up all the overtime that came my way.
Admittedly, that was when we had job & knock but the principle still applies, ignore others, do as requested and either cut off or claim.
It's a piss easy stress free job if you approach it with the right mentality.

I do believe there is a large "Mental" aspect to this job. I handle working with idiots by totally ignoring them. Try using some earplugs and an radio, or MP3 player. Had a great morning listening to some of my favourite LPs on MP3 player.

Meanwhile ..... back in the Kinder Garten the children were shouting & swearing at each other..... because it's Christmas and there's lots of work to do.

I absolutely agree with you

I am working with idiots too and they are the most annoying part of the job. In fact, if it wasn't for the idiots (and there are a lot of them in Royal Mail) I would love this job! The people I work with are mentally stuck at 15!

It is about changing your mentality and approach to how you do your job. Ive been a sucker for this but the key is to not have any interest in those that are ruining the job, ie that is those that rush like hell to get out of the door and then when they get back at 12.00 and do OT til 3pm but get paid til 7pm, they are the A-Lickers.

In our office we have 3 vultures that circle around the managers office sniffing for what they can get and how much are they going to get paid to do it. Does HR condone job and knock?

BLOW THE WHISTLE THEN, that's what needs to happen, not just in RM but in all companies that are taking the p..s out of their workers and customers. Maybe they do want to lose the USO in a couple of years when it's up for renewal but that's not happening as their is NO OTHER COMPANY who could do it. But yes you should stick them in.. It's a f......g disgrace.
