Quick question

If we've booked w/c 24th December as annual leave do we have to work the 24th ?
Nothing was said at the time of booking this, last year !

I think you do and get a day in lieu (for that day,Xmas day & Boxing day)

Only for xmas day and boxing day. xmas eve isn't a bank holiday

yes you have to work the Monday.
on the plus side, you are only losing 2 days of your AL entitlement for virtually a week off.

Depends how many days, hrs and minutes they've booked off. It should be on their annual leave card.

If I had booked the week off and wasn’t told anything about the 24th being off limits, I’d say I had made plans

People on leave next week in my office aren't working the Monday. If they did there would be spare people all over the place. All back to normal duty wise on Christmas Eve. No parcels deliveries or people to do loops that are left

It's an error that has apparently slipped through in numerous DOs for some reason. DOMs are human just like posties and everyone makes mistakes. Xmas eve is not meant to be booked as AL as it is still Xmas time and will likely be very busy.

Interesting. So if on a four day week, should there only be one day deduction, no matter when your days off actually fall on that week?
