Our stand in Dom who is a complete jobsworth spoke to us today about tomorrow being exceptionally busy! Somehow he knows it will be and as today is in his words the easiest day he has seen he is expecting all of us to finish walks tomorrow! Everyone you will make plenty of time today so we basically shouldn’t cut off as he says if we finish early one day we need to make up time? Well I made a total of 25 mins today on a supposedly very light day! So how does it work regards finishing time because I don’t want to work on and have told him,much to his disgust!

There is no such agreement, if you want to go past your finish time tomorrow you should get paid for all the time you have gone over. If he doesn't like that idea say you wish to finish at your finish time and then watch his face.

Problem is if you do go over he isn’t even paying ot properly despite signing for 2 hours over two weeks ago he only paid me 1 .25 so he is basically refusing to pay as he says he took some off for finishing early on Saturday! Which was about 10 mins! So I am now not wisyto go past my time as he isn’t paying it properly, so I don’t have to go over like he says?

Just tell him at the start of your shift you will be finishing at your finish time as your o/t is not getting paid properly, ask for it all to be paid and you then will be willing to go over.

Think I will say I am working to my time as been stitched up too many times

There is an agreement that banking hours is not allowed - they cannot take overtime off you if you finish early. They usually try to use the 30 min flexibility agreement but this also has to be agreed by the employee beforehand.

Swings and roundabouts it doesn't exist in royal mail. You only have to work your allocated hours and no more.

Our guvnor tried that a couple of years back. I said fine in that case I will no longer book overtime I will bank it instead until I have enough hours for a day off. Do not hear of it anymore. Funny that.

As far as I am aware ,the 30 minute flex thing is only for exceptional circumstances,such as breakdowns ,not because they wont pay o/t.

Of course it does.
If I finish 10 minutes early one day, I wouldn't bother claiming if I went 10 minutes over the next day.

If you finish 10 minutes early one day it's up to your Dom to provide you with 10 minutes work that day , you can't carry it over to another day. If the next day you go over 10 minutes then that's docket.

All but the most anally retentive operate on an unofficial swings and roundabouts basis.
I'm not going to book 10 minutes OT if I've finished 10 minutes early the previous day primarily because I'm honest enough to say that I'm not prepared to walk into the office and demand 10 minutes more work (how many actually do?), neither am I dishonest enough to hang my shift out for another 10 minutes.

There's militant and there's standing up for your rights and then there's just being a bit of an arse really.

I do believe the the Dom can't deduct any o/t from you without getting your agreement first.

Correct, this is the reasonable position. I finished about one yesterday, roughly an hour and half early, I didn't book the forty five I was late today as it's fair enough in my opinion.

I was simply trying to make a point , Dom's cannot bank hours fact. Otherwise they will be saying oh 3 weeks ago on Tuesday , then the
, following Saturday, then again last Tuesday and so on .you owe me 3 hours , so today being a busy as hell Wednesday you can go over
3 hours. It's not about 5 or 10 minutes one day.
