Anyone else noticed an alarming trend whereby sequenced mail isn't arriving in alternate Postcodes, but parcels have been processed?
Not talking one of two walks in a postcode either, but sometimes nearly an entire office worth?
What is going on? Have letters really declined to zero, or are the company making an effort to forget they exist?
The future looks grim.

Lack of CSS trained staff? Not every MC will do sequencing on their iLSMs/IMPs (and not all DOs will be covered by the sequencing plans on a iLSM/IMP anyway)

If the affected codes are not part of a sequencing plan ordinarily, why has the issue only started in the past two weeks? Normally they would receive sequenced mail daily.
The only part of your post I can confidently decipher is not enough trained staff (CSS = ?)
My suspicion is the company no longer have enough experienced staff to cover the busiest time of the year as they rely to much on automation and underestimated the volumes of letters and parcels.

"estelle" your suspicions are probably 90% correct. Not enough experienced staff certainly but when managers
move three quarters of "experienced mech staff" (25 years plus service)are moved into the letters section at the
start of the shift because of their "experience " and then told to" tie it down" halfway through the shift even before
the night air service has started bringing mail from all over the country to the office because the parcels are"pumped"
(management words not mine) then the business is the loser.RM now has a man in charge whose background is
parcels.Dont think he will be too bothered if letters side of the business goes down the swanny .Oh it is'nt a seasonal
situation it can happen any time of the year.

iLSM was the letters of my rank in the ROYAL NAVY, leading seaman (missile). When I joined the RM from the RN I was taken aback about just how much both organisations worked and were run on the same lines even from your normal postie=sailor/soldier, the PHG=leading hand/corpral, the lino=po/sgt and DOM=captain/lt col. Also the leave requests and other paperwork were all familiar to ex forces. Most of the payments and names of jobs/duties went in the way BACKWARD agreement in 2000. But their was docket allowed to help the duty holders who's duty it was to fix the DOs bikes. The list was endless and sorry I've went off post, but if you get a chance you should take a peek. I know there was no machines and a lot more letters but I think about 200,000 duties were there just for something for someone to sometimes do, hahaha.
