bullying advice

Post by harry hill »

a few weeks back I noticed a certain colleague making silly noises, a couple occasionally joined in now and then,
last couple of weeks its just been the one who does it but a few others laugh

last week I realised this noise is him mimicking me. right after I've been in the close proximity to him, ( hard to explain but if I said its similar to the stereotypical Quasimodo voice commonly used by comics ) of course its not something I sound like but obviously a little thing they picked up and run with when I wasn't there

now this is its pretty insulting but they don't think I know which is why they seem to openly do it in my presence

so what do I do next ?

Best thing might be to take the ( bully) aside to talk to them first , that might put a stop to it. If he or they continue ask union rep for advice , or tell the Dom to sort it out. If it still continues phone the bullying and harassment helpline. Don't just put up with it. Bullying in any form is totally not acceptable.

it's only banter if the 1 on receiving end was aware of it from the start and genuinely laughs with it, obviously this isn't the case, 1st thing would be to confront him, though they'll probably say it's not about you, if it carries on see dom, if it still carries on tell dom it's getting you down and you're going to see a doctor over stress
