Hello I was just wondering how long you have to have worked for the company to receive a Christmas bonus please?

No time limit, just as long as you are working and being paid over Christmas - subject to the various rules and agreements as posted elsewhere.

Probably because its a Bonus and therefore outside of all the pay rises the CWU have negotiated.

But being pedantic the Christmas bonus was £100 in 2009, in the 2010 agreement it was increased to £200 so it has gone up once.

O wow that’s good :-) I’m impressed. I worked for Sainsbury’s for 16 years and never got a Christmas bonus yet only started with the Royal Mail in June and feel so much more appreciated. Is the part time and full time pay different?x

Xmas bonus is paid pro-rota.

No. Pro rata to your hours. Full time posties get the full £200. A 20 hrs per week postie will get approx £105.

No it's done on your contracted hours, so if you are on 25 hrs its about £130 rather than the £200 full timers get (unless you have been put up to full time over Christmas by agreement with your mananger)

There was a time when we only got £60 in our office. While other bigger offices got £100. So in that respect I has gone up over the years just very slowly!

the other £100 quid (the bonus is only a 100) is because we were fleeced out of the phantom shares isn't it?...don't quote me.

PT posties at my office are working full time hours over Christmas but getting it paid as OT, do they still get the bonus?

They get a bonus but not the full 200. It will be reduced dependent on contract hours.

some are 25hrs and some are 30hrs

At one time every DO used to get a different Xmas bonus based on what the local union rep could negotiate. So offices where there was more militant posties or troublemakers would get higher bonuses.
