If your training a new starter should you get some extra pay?

Seems workplace coach gets it in although hes not doing anything

It's a ridiculous situation, we've got 3 workplace coaches (50 staff) in our D.O. and they do virtually nothing for their extra pay, any new starters just get trained by the duty holder of whatever walk they're learning.

We have 2 "trainers" in our office. They get paid weekly but it's always the postie on the round that does the training. When challenged they always say there's no time for them to be released. Royal mail is wasting money on this but won't pay our overtime.

Because they don't teach them the duty, they teach them the processes, rules, H&S requirements and use of equipment, none of that specifically needs a particular duty.

Perhaps someone should tell them that,that is their role , because with the evidence ive seen of the standard of training ,they should hand back their £30 they get each week.

I find it silly that you have to train new entrants

My answer is I was trained by Royal Mail to deliver mail.I wasn't trained in how to train other staff!

Rm says were losing money , cannot blieve they are still wasting £30 a week when months on end they do nothing ! The money could be better spent on uniforms . A bonus incentment or sthing ,,anything . Waste of a lot of money .
