Annual Holiday Policy- Bank and public holidays Guide for employeesFirstPost wrote:Can someone please tell me what will happen?
What time off can be taken
A bank holiday falls on a day that an employee is not scheduled to work Where an employee’s work pattern would either miss, hit fewer or more bank or public holidays:
The employee’s hours should be adjusted the week before or after the bank holiday allowing them the time off
Where possible this should be done by pre-scheduling the attendance pattern in advance across the year
Edit; I am assuming you are entitled to full amount of days (usually 8 in a year)
You will need to work a 5 or 4 day week to qualify for 8 days - pro-rata part-time.
Also amount of days will be pro-rata if you are in your first year.

thank you, but this has just confused me even more. Why is nothing RM do in simple terms for the layman like myself?rogersh wrote:Annual Holiday Policy- Bank and public holidays Guide for employeesFirstPost wrote:Can someone please tell me what will happen?

You can ask for another day that week, get another days leave to use in future or just get paid. Personally I'd ask for another day that week or take the money, getting holiday owed is a pain especially as it'll be one day. Christmas is on a Tuesday; why not ask for Thursday? It's always dead quiet that week and they might give it you and it'll be a longer Christmas break for you.FirstPost wrote:Can someone please tell me what will happen?

Looking at your previous posts suggests you started with RM in October.FirstPost wrote:thank you, but this has just confused me even more. A full year would accrue 30.5 days A/L per year April 2018 to April 2019 which includes Bank Holidays.
You will have worked 6 months(est) until Apr 2019 which gives you 15.25 days A/L. (All holiday is booked in hours.)
Xmas day, Boxing day & New years day remain Bank/Public holiday for this year.
You will not be working Xmas day - So your choice would be to request an alternative day off. But as you will not accrue full amount of A/L this year you may not wish to.
I don't know if this helps or adds to the confusion.
