if you go off sick due to a work related injury will it be classed the same as somebody who
goes sick with a non work injury.

As far as I know yes. Sickness is sickness whatever caused it.

It can't be used against you for attendance review stages, if it was caused by work.

So long as it's been reported.

If its work related just make sure its reported ,I mean really make sure its reported,if not unless you have a decent fair manager it will be brushed under the carpet as it nearly always was at my old office. :no no

The diference is that the absence for the work related injury should be dicounted from calculation purposes towards formal stage reviews in accordance with the attendance procedure.
Ensure that the injury has been recorded by means of an ERICA and their is no attempt by management that the injury sustained was not caused by your own negligence.
Your H&S rep should be advised and a risk assessment report completed.

Reporting through ERICA is always fiercely resisted at our place. Is there some monetary connection? Mixing money with health and safety seems inherently corruptible.
