Can we compile a list of official safe places to leave a parcel please?

No. If you can open them to put parcels in, then someone else can open them to take them back out.

If that was the instruction on the packet I would leave it and take a photo.

Only if it's the safeplace written on the tracked item. That's what the photo capability is for on the PDA. They've basically said that they expect it to be left there and accept responsibility for it .

Sorted with this one over Christmas.

Taken a photo of noticeboard DOM memo in our place that says parcels must be not be doorstepped, left in bins or over fences and must be either delivered to customer or through door.

If you're the Regular Duty Holder you'll soon find out where you can leave parcels for particular customers, and it'll save you time filling out 739s, or trying neighbours. If you're a Reserve then it's best to play safe, and follow the instructions on the parcels ONLY. In either case if anything goes missing you are likely to get the blame intially........ so the moral is "Cover your Arse".

As a General Rule I always leave parcels out of sight, and under cover. Recently I've started using the "Deliver to Customers" option a lot more, simply because of the time of year. We've had cases of "White Vans" cruising the area and basically hoovering up any parcels left in view. The scumbags know everyones shopping on line, and they know there's likely to be some rich pickings left on doorsteps by those Couriers less diligent than us.

If I leave it in what I consider a "Safe Place", i.e A shed, I still take a photo. So far I've had no comeback about my "Safe Place" not matching the "Safe Place" on the parcel. Just use your common sense.

yes. RM have dictated this. They are 100% culpable, as long as you take that photo.
