Does this job get easier after Christmas?!!!

I know it does but jeez the parcels are driving me nuts. Only been doing this 2 months and it’s clicked for me but wouldn’t mind a period of time I don’t drag 3 full bags of parcels to my frame each morning hoping most fit in the slot ! Suppose I should be pleased I’ve got my head round the job, we have a new starter next week, that is going to be awful for them !

I’m just venting to be honest.

Ironically you may well find the period nearer Christmas a lot lighter than you'd think (depending on Delivery Offices & Duties)

The Households are put on hold, because we've got bigger problems....... RM tell the catalogue companies to give it a rest........ Generally most Posties feel a lot better delivering Cards & Christmas Prezzies that customers actually look forward to........ There's a Block on Leave, so you should have some spare staff to help out with Parcels........ That's if the DOMS remembered to book some Hire Vehicles.

Your Customers are Generally in a better mood when you knock their door with their Prezzies...... AND you might even get some Christmas Tips.

I find Christmas a lot less Stressfull than some other Periods of the year.

The D2Ds have not been put on hold and I get the feeling we will have up to the full six contracts each week all the way up to Xmas eve. Quite large ones as well such as Xmas catalogues, dogs home ones with large pens and calendars in them and theatre brochures etc.

Christmas is no harder or more stressful than any other time of year. All days are the same.

If you find they are not, either:

A) you are not utilising all paid hours;
B) you are not utilising the overrunning procedure; or
C) you are not doing either.

Emotions are out. Automation is in.

This is the only time of year we don’t get hassled about going over our time or cutting off. Come January the Christmas spirit will be gone and daily arguments over workload will be back.

its easy we just work the same way as we do the rest of the year , its simple just fill your bags and your lwt or whatever you use and what you cant get in or on sling them out , theres always somebody who will drag the dom out the s**t and do them on o/t .

In our DO we usually have no more than six contracts of D2Ds. The exceptions to this rule are usually either a late contract, RM wanting to send a leaflet out itself, or an additional one from the government or council. These exceptions are fairly rare occurrences with a late contract the most likely.

Had 7 slots of leaflets the last 2 weeks and got the hatrick up next week unbelievable
