Booked annual leave on weeks with Bank Holidays

Hi,

Can I get confirmation that days are credited back if you book annual leave on a week which includes a bank holiday?

e.g. booking 5 days on week commencing 15/04/2019 (19th is Good Friday) only takes 4 days annual leave?

Is this written down in an agreement somewhere?

Yes, before you would have got a day back but it should now be be done by the hours not the days.

you will be credited (or should) with the time owed to you on your annual leave form. for instance, i get 30 days A/L entitlement. this year some of my A/L fell on 2 bank holidays, so my annual leave form had 32 days entitlement.

You get a day in lieu if an AL week contains a bank holiday which can be booked after that week occurs on the AL sheet providing there is space to book it. Or you can carry that day over to the following years AL if you want to. AL is allocated in hours now possibly because RM got their knickers in a twist thinking they might have lost out financially.

seems daft really. a day is a day. we work only 7hrs 25mins on Tuesdays. so if they give you 7hrs 25mins for that day,...….its STILL a day off. you aren't getting any more or any less.

How ridiculous that it varies on an office by office basis, doesn't this useless company have any systems that are just uniform across the board, without us having to double check everything?

Surely it should just be done automatically that if you book a full week you automatically get a day credited back to your leave card.

It is automatic.
But it requires your manager inputting the info on PSP/MPP correctly.

Mate at our office tries to book all weeks on bank holiday weeks so you end up with another week to book. Good system if you aren’t bothered about school holidays. Plus it means you miss those weeks where we try to deliver six days worth of post in five.
