New contract 35 hours part time

Colleagues made up to 35 hours from 1st October 2018 - new contracts state your employment with Royal Mail is a part-time occupation.

Manager says HR said to just cross out part & put full !! ( A line manager has actually altered someones contract that way) . Also if you need verification you are full-time - Example a mortgage lender- Ask them to contact RM/HR.
In my opinion I do not think altering your own contract, or a manager doing it for you, should be encouraged. Surely if HR have made a mistake with details they should send an amended version. I have posted my concern of calling 35 hours full-time on this forum & have contacted CWU re this subject & this latest episode.

Anyone had a 35 hour contract that says you are full-time?

Don't think HR have made a mistake as currently full time hours are 38 and realistically given how it's seemed to have gone to s**t in deliveries (from reading threads here) i can't see any of the our hour reductions ever happening

The 4 pillars states "New full time employees from October 2018, recruited either from existing employees or new recruits in the core OPG grade, will be on a 35 hour week"

Why would HR not have made a mistake if the advice from HR to management is to change the contract content? . However I have always maintained anything less than 39 or 38 should be considered as part-time.

Update;
I have received this response from a CWU/PEC member via Davie Robertsons office

"This matter has now been passed to the DGS(P) Department, as we are currently in talks with Royal Mail around a number of issues, relating to the 35 hour contracts. As a result I ensure that I e-mail the business this afternoon to raise the issue you have highlighted. We will then be able to include this in our wider discussions.

Once we have an agreed clarification I will get back to you. Please note however that this is unlikely to happen overnight and may take a finite period of time
Thanks again for raising this matter."

I have not received a response from HR to the question;

"I request you can give me a definitive answer on the new contract issued for colleagues made up to 35 hours from 1st October 2018.
Should the contract state your employment with Royal Mail is a part-time or a full-time occupation."

Has anyone been given a 35 hour contract as a full-time occupation since 1st October 2018 ?

just been told I’m going to made up to full time at 35 hours I’m just waiting for the paperwork to come through which should be within the next couple of weeks and I’m having another 3 hours on overtime to make me up to 38 hours

My union rep tried to get me 38 hours but it got rejected as all people made up after the agreement will be 35 hours

I would be interested to know if your contract states part or full time. No obligation - if you think giving this information somehow infringes
the GDPR regulations.

If RM are going to class 35hrs as full time then shouldn't the extra 3 hours for people on 38 hrs weeks actually be classed as overtime? if it isn't then really 35hrs should be officially classed as part time

I agree mate but I think their loophole is the fact it says in the new agreement from 1st October 2018 anybody starting on a 35 hour contract or being upgraded to a 35 hour contract will be classified as full time. (correct me if im wrong about this , just what I was told ).

Because their contract should state they are full time!
