Notice to resign

Hi , any body know specifically how much notice I would have to give to resign ?
Hearing different periods from 1 week to 4 weeks ?

Only a week, we're short staffed so our dom says a month but it's bull I'm sure. If you're paid weekly your notice is a week. Even if they say a month, you're leaving anyway, just go. Good luck.

We had one postie who just left when he wanted to go but we knew he was going to leave at some point months before hand. Its up to you really - if you want to just leave and you have another job in place or are retiring then do that.

It depends when you started. I have been with RM for 7.5 years and my contract is 1 week notice but it has changed since then to 4 years but I’m not sure when it changed so it depends when you started. Royal Mail only give a reference that details dates work and job title so if you can’t work your full notice then it is unlikely to affect that.

Don't burn your bridges as you leave. Some posties swear they will never return but not too long after they've gone they want to come back. . . Notice period is usually dependent on time served up to 12 yrs which is 12 weeks notice.

it changed in April 17.
it's 4 weeks notice if you started at RM after this date, it's still 1 week if you started before that.

That's how much notice RM have to give you if they're getting rid of you!
