Rehab Queries?

Post by jimmy1976 »

Hi All,

Just a couple of quick questions I hope someone can answer.

After being on a long term absence with Diabetes, what are the minimum amount of hours I can return to work on?

On a previous occasion of long illness I returned on 2 working hours a shift but I have been led to believe it has now increased to 4 hours.

Also, is it preferable to have an OH Assist referral before returning to work?

I have already actively requested one from my Line Manager.

Thanks in advance.

Jim.

It is preferable that you get a doctors fit note outlining exactly what you are and are not able to do and for how long. It is not a cast iron guarantee as the boss will either try to make you "just do this little bit extra" here and there or they'll get OH ASSist to come up with a rehab plan more to their own liking. Ask our colleague languishing at home with no sick pay what they think of the one size fits all rehab work plan they may try to saddle you with. Get a fit note, stick to it and get the union involved if the boss tries to circumvent it via OH ASSist

Hi know this is a bit old but do we have any proof of OH Assist making there rehab plans around management preference. it's just i'm going through something similar a OH Assist nurse tried to bully me into taking IHR. I Recorded her but any other proof of this happening to others would be useful.
