Requesting days off

Wondering what the policy is with requesting days off? I’m a reserve and have never been granted any days that I’ve asked for off (approx 5) I’ve asked for a day off in 10 weeks time and my manager isn’t giving me a straight answer yes or no, I just don’t understand how I only get my rota on a sat for the following week and yet it’s looking like they are going to say no to a day 10 weeks away. I just want to be clear I just want it as my day off that week not annual leave. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Go see your rep if you are in the union. Your manager is just being awkward. Royal Mail hate paying for annual leave, it's seen as wrecking their budget.
