January 2019 changes?

Help anyone ive heard that an agreement ends in january 2019 which means changes likely to royal mail employees jobs Can anyone explain what is likely to happen as asking collegues no one seems to know what changes likely. Thank you

The 4 pillars agreement only came in this year and they next pay review outside that agreement is April 2020, so whilst change to our t&cs is always possible I think any threat would have had the CWU ramping up comms on it.

Also, the 4 pillars and the changes outlined in it are not yet fully implemented so I can't see any reason there would be a new agreement, more likely I think that they are going to speed up the implementation of the new style of delivery.

I would guess you are referring to the six month trial on ways to reduce the time it takes to prep mail by means of increased automation & not sorting much mail into our walk frames. This trial ends in the new year but we haven't heard much about whether it has been a success or not. There was one comment a while back saying the new methods of prep were taking a lot longer than our current methods and this was expected to be the case by posties. The recent announcement from Rico that crashed the RM share price mentioned that forecasts of possible cost cutting planned by Moya were wildly over enthusiastic. This could be a reference to the major cost savings from changing prep methods not being possible which is good news for posties.
The next possible big event is liable to be any changes to the USO once we get to the date where RM is free to make more changes.

There's no scope at all for increasing automation without RM replacing ALL existing iLSMs, IMPs, CFCs, T2K and CSS machines. In fact with the way things are going you'll soon end up with LESS mech mail
