Smelly stormcoat

I am not due another storm coat for 6 months, but it stinks rotten, probably getting wet through and not drying properly Maybe. I have even tried washing it at home but it still stinks.
Any of you had any success in getting the smell out?

You can wash them in the washing machine but only up to six times to avoid rain proof chemical wearing out ,try pouring plenty of lenor over it before washing it !

Is it totally worn out as in the reflective part on it is no longer reflective or has if faded? You might be able to get a new one sooner by saying it not longer fits the health and safety standards

if anything like my office theres usually a couple of old coats knocking about in a store cupboard, whether they are less stinky than your one is questionable, but you never know your luck !

Sprinkle the inside with bicarb leave it for a day or so then Hoover it off. Shake n Vac might do the job too.

I wash mine in Nik Wax to keep it waterproof.

Hang outside on coat hanger & spray with Vodka & leave to dry ....... Thank me later

If you don't wash an item of clothing, it's going to stink. I wash mine every week. It's s**t,
but it was never waterproof in the first place.

I know your not supposed to put these in the washing machine but I have tried a few times but the outside still stinks. Will try again this weekend with some Lenor. If it's still no good I will break the zip and get a new one that way or try and set fire to it lol

Just looking on the uniform website and there are 2 types of Storm coats on there, both the same picture.
One is RYJ3 all weather coat cl2,
and the other one is RYR7 storm coat class 2.
It doesn't say what the difference is, maybe one is a newer version. Any idea?

I wonder if everyone sees the same items on the website. Maybe different jobs or areas see slightly different things.

All I can see are two coats, plus the fleece. Only one 'stormcoat'.

RM Stormcoat Class 2 National

RYJ7
RM Cagoule National

The Cagoule is a joke and not worth bothering with.
