Parcel at neighbors complaint

So a complaint has been made as I’ve left a 739 card stating package at next doors. But customer has complained saying this isn’t the case. I know I left it with the neighbor, but what is the procedure from this point?

Go and knock on at the neighbour and ask why they are saying they haven’t got the parcel.

I know people who have done this and when you put them on the spot they usually come clean and make some rubbish up about it all being a misunderstanding

They can’t get you in for a disciplinary for that mate, they might ask you about it but that’s it. Just explain your side and that should be that

They TELL you that you have GOT to try neighbours so they can't complain when you do. It's not your fault the neighbours are thieving scum.

Did you use the neighbour option on the PDA? This way they have to give there name and sign for it as well.

They don’t necessarily have to sign for it, depends on the service used.

But whether you used the neighbour option will be important

happened to me twice last year...both tracked...both left at next door neighbours....card left to tell them,,,

both times got a complaint saying parcel wasn't there...

since then I 739 parcels...

Don't worry about it, you've done your job, also learnt a valuable lesson, not in, 739 it & take it back, job done.

You don't have to try neighbours, despite the managers bleating on about it. I don't try neighbours ,ever, if,they come out and offer that's different ,but it's your judgement whether or not to do so.
