It depends on the duty, and the number of days a week you work.

I work 6 hours a day and I'm supposed to go in, bundle up, load van, do van checks and leave. In reality, depending on who the full timer is, and how busy it is, I'll do 5- 10 mins prep then sort packets, do redirections, sort SD's, bundle up etc

Yes the main factor would be how many days those sets of hours are spread over. A standard duty length would be in the region of 7.5 to 8 hour days for which you would be expected to do everything eg the IPS, prep and delivery. We get the impression that walk lengths are smaller in some DOs so it may mean that some of those duties would maybe not do the IPS but prep two walks instead. We don't have any 'real' part time duties in our DO but at one time when it was required for some Postie's to do or help with double prep it often didn't get done or only partially.
If those example sets of hours are split into 5 or 6 hour duties that probably means you just do tying up & delivery. It sounds like though in practice you may also get additional overtime every day as standard to do the remainder of what a full time might do. This is where RM is getting the job done on the cheap which is wrong and ****** us off. We have three 32 hour duties in our DO which could be seen by RM, and maybe actually are, part time duties. We don't really see it as that as two of those posties wanted to drop their hours so they do four full days a week. But in another office 32 hours could be split down further to enable a five day part time duty.

Or as a 38 hour full time staff as directed by manager! Time is what can be done in the time allowed we don't have set duties anymore in delivery and any managers who think they can manipulate time is a fool unto themselves just cut off!
