Too many managers, not enough postmen.

There are less managers in our office on a Saturday, and are off home not long after we leave the office. Shows how much 'managers work' they really do have.

Perhaps if Royal Mail reduced costs by getting rid of managers who don't work to their time, and do very little the rest of the time, the share price might rise. We posties are usually the ones to face cuts and do more as a result. Managers, on the other hand, are rarely affected. In fact they employ more of them - to do little. Gives you an insight to the people at the top I think.

Be nice to have electronic capture of signing in and out as most of our managers dare not put what time they sign out.

I don't understand why RM waste money giving work place coaches £30 a week, what a joke when they do so little to help and train newbies.

Why don't RM just pay the £30 to whoever is doing the training that week?

been saying that for years makes no sense to pay that money out every week, just pay it when someone needs training, then the managers friends would be down some cash I suppose

Couldn’t agree more. Ours is a waste of space and money.

Of the 9 rounds I’m trained to do that should have been a total of 27 days training with a coach, I had half a days training.

4 of the rounds I trained myself without any knowledge of the area. It was a complete shambles, never known a company like it.

To be fair, you're lucky to be trained on walks. I've had to do rurals without training before now! There's never training on normal duties either, the training is you do it. Wrong really.

They have the advantage that they can get their work done by sat am meaning that they can go when the office is clear and they have done their calls. I think they bank a few hours too so if they go over through the week they just go earlier on Sat.

I personally think none should go home until all posties are safely back. But that's another story

They must have a contract ,with start and Finnish times.
Can't see them being aloud to bank hours etc.
And if they were aloud they would sign out etc on Saturday.
But they don't.
They do it on Monday when they take the sheets to there office and put fake times on the sheet.
Health and safety is getting neglected big time cause if fire happened there home etc
And firemen would be running about a office on fire trying to find them cause they never signed out if they checked the sheet entering the building

Banking hours!!

Ours takes vans to the workshop first thing in the morning arrives back as we are leaving, banks the hours for the extra work he has done, gets a coffee then f***s off home where the internet is better apparently!!
Only in this tin pot company would this be allowed!

Very rare when you come back on Saturday there's a manager to be seen. Doms seem to have every Saturday off.

Ironically it's called TOIL.
Time Off In Lieu.
Since it's self regulated it's probably one of the most abused systems in the business.
