A reasonable human being could have taken into account your absent free record and applied mitigating circumstances before giving a stage 1 which is not mandatory but this is RM.bullhead wrote:Then suffered Heart Attack and was off work for 3 months, given a stage 1 on my return. You will now think twice about coming to work when you have a cold.

The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

You’re disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities.
I don't know the full extent of your medical condition but I find it hard to believe someone who has suffered a heart attack wouldn't come under the Equality Act.
The stage shouldn't have been issued.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The manager could have in the circumstances suspended the stage1 until a further absence ocurred and in the second absence if there is one all absences up to the interview date would be included. This means that your second absence would only trigger a stage 1 instead of a stage 2 taking the sting out of your absence due to your heart attack and hopefully appese both parties.

I understand your frustration but getting a stage 1 is not worth worrying about. If you ever got to a stage 3 then all absences would be looked at on their own merit

Whilst the manager should and could have mitigated the Stage 1, I think people are getting two things mixed up , these idiots don't care about the reason for your absence ,they only care about the absence itself because they have to get off their arses and do some work moving people around , what a shame.

Exactly. Frustration is stressful = bad for anyone, let alone someone who's had a heart attack. Tis what it is don't worry bout it. One thing your scare should have brought home is that things like this aren't worth taking on board, although it's hard I know, when you feel you've been unjustly treated. Just keep chilled my friend, and just turn up, do job, go home. Managers really aren't worth getting stressed over. Hope the recovery goes well.number one wrote:I understand your frustration but getting a stage 1 is not worth worrying about. Did you get your rep in for the interview and take notes of what the manager said but we have all been their but notes of interview will be reviewed at RTU even though we know and you know the facts these will be twisted by management to secure a conviction/dismissal. In their book even these people who do the RTU are not human they are the same blood thirsty managers urging these said managers to issue stage 1 and 2 warnings so let it be known get your REP in and take notes!bullhead wrote:Then suffered Heart Attack and was off work for 3 months, given a stage 1 on my return.
